An Edinburgh Moment by Nick Awde

In The Stage Edinburgh
Free!
Essential Guide to the Fringe
On page 8
(That'll be Critics' Choice then)
Opposite my mugshot
On page 9
Jeremy answers the question
"What's your best ever
Edinburgh Moment?"

"Midway through watching
A show in which a man beat
A lamb's carcass with a
Piece of telephone wire
(I would say cable,
To be honest)
For an hour and a half,
[It was called Cage]
A fellow reviewer,
Who turned 31
That day, whispered:
'Worst Birthday.
Ever.'
I've never
Laughed so much."

Now, if you're expecting me
To say that I was that
Fellow reviewer,
I'm afraid I wasn't.
(It was Chris.)
But I was sitting
At the same show
On the same aisle.
And laughed
Just as much
As our fellow reviewer
Jeremy
(Who also met his
Girlfriend
There...
Um, but not in the show
With the
Lamb's carcass
And the
Telephone wire.
Evidently.)
