Image of love hearts in the sea
Song of the Sea by Emilia Telese

From the water in the dark, we seeked
salty kisses and caresses
on the calm sea, at night

Red and gold lights from a shore far away
villages, harbours we didn't know yet
For the time was to be in each other. . .

I swam between your legs, underwater
my hair caressing your calves
like a swift fish escaping bait

But you dived and caught me from above
my arms, fins to pin down
amongst the rocks where the sand is soft

Our silver bodies in the night light
shimmering and writhing
and our song
whispered to the tides
