Image of the parasols fairground ride at a holiday camp Holiday Camp

Village of Vacation! Campus of Fun!
A fine location for a family to come,
Shedding woes in the rapids, floating round and round,
Weightless under parasols at the fairground,
It's sixteen years since we first came here with our toddler girl,
in each and ev'ry puddle she'd make a splash and twirl,
Now she's a young woman who doesn't like a fuss
while relishing the carousel as much as us,
How glitzy and how modern the camp has become:
the Arabian Derby and its greasepaint are truly gone,
A dun-white canopy is flown high and wide,
Fast-food chains and amusements mushroom out inside,
Time has raced past us claiming its fair due,
Lost is the hope of exhilaration anew,
Still we make the most of our holidays,
enjoying the camp in modest ways.
A fine location for a family to come,
Village of Vacation! Campus of Fun!
