Image of fireball produced by the Southover Bonfire Society outside the King's Head pub, Lewes
Advance Southover!

Southover torches blaze once more,
A river of flame, brilliant and long,
United against bigotry we walk tall,
Remembering those who've gone.

Advance Southover! Advance!
Girls and Boys of Bonfire,
Ever true to each other,
Advance Southover! Advance!

We remember the Falklands twenty-five years ago
The brave men lost on the Coventry
And the Battle of Goose Green's heroes
Who died so The Falklands could be free.

Advance Southover! Advance!
Girls and Boys of Bonfire,
Ever true to each other,
Advance Southover! Advance!

We remember with pride
The boys of the Somme,
And the day Sussex died:
Our slaughtered young men.

Advance Southover! Advance!
Girls and Boys of Bonfire,
Ever true to each other,
Advance Southover! Advance!

We mourn the martyrs of the Old Star Inn,
And all who died declaring their faith,
On Guido's Fifth we march again
To stem the tide of hate.

Advance Southover! Advance!
Girls and Boys of Bonfire,
Ever true to each other,
Advance Southover! Advance!
